Helen Mirren Cusses on Live TV, Gets Swiftly Reprimanded: Watch!

The woman who Ryan Reynolds once called a “cussing legend” is at it again. Helen Mirren appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, July 28, and lived up to her nickname.

The Hollywood icon, 70, used some colorful language on the morning show when she told a story about the time she went camping with her ex-boyfriend Liam Neeson. Mirren dated the actor, now 63, in the 1980s and became animated as she recalled the trip with her then-love.

“I love camping,” she began. “I went camping with an ex-boyfriend of mine, Liam Neeson — I lived with him for four years, and we went camping in Cornwall. He loved camping as well.”

Mirren went on to detail the small car that she rode in with the 6-foot-4-inch Neeson, and the haul that they packed in the back of it, including a tent, a “little stove,” and other camping materials.

“We get down there and we’re camping in this tiny tent — all 6-foot-4 of Liam and me,” the Hitchcock star continued. “We camp in this field — not like an official camping site with electricity with loos and showers, none of that — just a tent, just literally a field. It pissed with rain, nonstop.”

As soon as Mirren uttered the word “pissed,” which is considered a more serious swear word in the UK, the anchors interjected.

“We should apologize,” host Ben Shephard said. “We can’t say things like that first thing in the morning.”

As Mirren gasped, Shephard asked with a laugh, “Is that one of those moments where you put your foot in your mouth? Apologies.” Watch the star’s reaction to her slip in the video above!
