Hilary Duff is spending Valentine’s Day with her very own Modern Family! The former Disney star, currently on vacation at an unspecified tropical locale, posted an outdoor photo with son Luca, 22 months, and estranged husband Mike Comrie, from whom she announced her split last month. In a new Instagram picture uploaded Friday, Feb. 14, former NHL player Comrie, 33, cradles little Luca in one arm as his other arm is draped over Duff’s shoulders; the two adoring parents smile at him as the tot devours a pear. “#modernfamily #vacation #juicypear,” she captioned the family photo. Both Duff, 26, and Comrie look casual and at ease in the photo, despite announcing their separation in January after three years of marriage.
In another Instagram photo posted by the singer-actress. she scrawled “Happy Valentine’s Day” in the sand along with a big heart beside her romantic message. “Hope everyone’s heart feels full and content today. Whether it’s with your love or just yourself! Smile,” she said on Twitter Friday afternoon.
“They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives,” her rep said of Duff and Comrie. Indeed, the two seem to be making it work! On Tuesday, Feb. 11 the two were photographed taking Luca on a walk around New York City, where Duff is currently shooting a TV Land pilot for a series called Younger.
As previously reported by Us Weekly, the spouses went through great pains to save their marriage leading up to their split announcement, but ultimately decided they were better off as friends. “The spark was no longer there,” a source told Us of the two.
