Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's Mama June Shannon claims that her kids are her No. 1 priority — but eldest daughter Anna Cardwell doesn't feel very valued at the moment. Cardwell, 20, sat down with Entertainment Tonight this week to talk about ongoing reports that her mother is dating registered sex offender Mark McDaniel, who she says molested her when she was 8 years old.
"It's like she's happy. She's smiling and laughing and giggling when he's around," Cardwell told ET of Shannon, 35, adding that she pleaded with her mother to stay away from McDaniel, 53,who recently completed a 10-year sentence behind bars.
"'You know, he's a child molester, Mama,'" she said. "'He did this to me. Why would you let him come around the girls knowing what he did?'" (In addition to Cardwell, Mama June has three younger daughters: Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, and Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon.)
"Mama's not supposed to be around him! She just knows!" the TLC reality star lamented. "And she let him get around Alana and Pumpkin!"
Cardwell went on to talk about how hurt she is that her mother hasn't taken her feelings into consideration amid the ongoing scandal, which resulted in the cancellation of the family's reality show last Friday, Oct. 24.
"It's Mama's fault. She has to live with it," Cardwell told ET. "She has brung the past back and now she can't get it away. It gives me a lot of emotions. I'm mad. I'm upset. I feel betrayed. I feel very hurt. That's the main thing that I am — I feel very hurt that Mama let him come around."
ET's full interview with Cardwell airs Thursday, Oct. 30.
