It’s not over ’til it’s over. Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney may have parted ways for now, but those close to them are still holding out hope for a reconciliation, a source reveals exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly.
“Both of their families are upset,” the insider tells Us of the couple, who started dating in 2011 and then got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2015. “And his costars tell him that they miss her. Everyone is hoping they get back together.”
Gaga, who performed at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday, July 28, would like nothing more. In an Instagram post after news of the split broke earlier this month, the American Horror Story actress, 30, said she and Kinney, 35, hoped to find their way back to each other with some time and space.
“Taylor and I have always believed we are soul mates,” she wrote. “Just like all couples, we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared.”
She ended the note with a plea for people to root them on. “We’re just like everybody else, and we really love each other,” she shared.
Indeed, the source tells Us that Gaga and the Chicago Fire star “still talk and text every day” — often about whether they can work things out. “The more they were apart, the more they stopped craving seeing each other,” the insider says. “They thought this was the best thing, to find their love and need to see each other again.”
