The best damn date night? Roommates Avril Lavigne and Ryan Cabrera were spotted canoodling during a romantic dinner at New York City’s STK Midtown on Wednesday, August 18.
The musical pair — who have been living together since November 2015 — met up at the Manhattan eatery where they sipped rosé and shared seared foie gras, tomato watermelon salad, and a classic filet, an onlooker tells Us Weekly. According to TMZ, Lavigne, 31, and Cabrera, 34, cuddled and snuck in a few smooches in between bites.
The “True” crooner met up with the Canadian-born beauty while he was in town for the My2K Tour, his summer concert series with fellow early-aughts acts 98 Degrees, Dream and O-Town. Cabrera — whose new single “Whatever, Whenever” drops on Friday, August 19 — performed at Brooklyn’s Coney Island Amphitheater hours before catching up with the “Complicated” singer.
Though they’ve kept their romance on the down-low, an insider told Us in February that the couple were “fully in a relationship,” but just “weren’t ready to go public” yet.
Prior to getting cozy with Cabrera, Lavigne was married to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. The former spouses called it quits in September 2015 after two years of marriage.
“It is with heavy hearts that Chad and I announce our separation today,” the pop starlet wrote alongside a smiling snapshot with her estranged second hubby. “Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we’ve created many unforgettable moments. The “Sk8er Boi” songstress was previously wed to Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley from July 2006 until November 2010. She began dating Brody Jenner in 2010, but split from the reality personality in 2012. Before Lavigne, Cabrera famously courted Ashlee Simpson in 2004 and struck up a brief showmance with The Hills’ Audrina Patridge in 2010.
