Janet Jackson Takes Break From Tour Prep, Travels to Dad Joe Jackson’s Side Following His Stroke

Janet Jackson put the preparation for her upcoming Unbreakable World Tour on hold and flew to be by her ailing father Joe Jackson’s side on Tuesday, July 28, sources confirm to Us Weekly.

According to an insider, the “No Sleeep” songstress, 49, took a private jet to Sao Paulo, Brazil, where her father has been hospitalized since he suffered a stroke on his 87th birthday on July 25.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Jackson’s tour prep will remain on hold and that she will stay by her famous dad’s bedside until he’s stable.

An insider tells Us that her brothers are also en route to Brazil.

Following Joe’s stroke, he took to his website to inform fans that he is expected to make a swift recovery. 

"To my family, friends, acquaintances and fans all over the world. I want to thank you all for your prayers, unwavering support and kind well wishes during these trying times," Joe shared on Monday, July 27. "Through God's intervention the wonderful Doctors, Nurses and caretakers at the Albert Einstein Sao Paulo hospital have taken great care of me. God willing, I should be able to make a quick recovery and travel back home soon. Thank you all once again for your prayers and support."
