Jason Momoa’s Crazy Intense Game of Thrones Audition Tape Goes Viral, Watch!

Way to get into character! Jason Momoa‘s audition tape for his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones has hit the internet — and it’s insanely intense!

The hunky 35-year-old actor worked himself up into an impressively wild state to perform the haka, an ancestral war cry from the Maori people of New Zealand.

The highly physical dance, accompanied by a warning chant, is best known for being performed before rugby matches by the New Zealand All Blacks team.

Despite the fact Momoa isn’t a New Zealander, hailing instead from Hawaii, the buff actor nailed his performance! With his trademark flowing hair and goatee beard he disappeared into the zone, beating out a fearsome dance and slamming his fists onto his forearms and thighs, before gasping to catch his breath.

Momoa’s performance, which won him the role of beastly Drogo in the hit HBO series, also proves he’s got the physical intensity to play his next big role — that of a superhero.

The actor will be suiting up to play Aquaman in the upcoming Warner Bros. film Batman v Superman where he’ll join Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in the movie which will hit theaters in 2016.
