Big health update for Jeanne Cooper! The 84-year-old Young and the Restless star was recently hospitalized for an unspecified illness, but her son, Corbin Bernsen, says she's improving.
"Just heard HUGE progress with my mom today. Breathing apparatus has been removed so now onto underlying issues," Bernsen, 58, tweeted Tuesday, April 16. "Your prayers are healing!"
The former L.A. Law actor has been tweeting updates to fans on his mother's condition since Friday. CBS Los Angeles reported Saturday that the veteran soap opera actress was in critical condition at a Los Angeles hospital.
"Need some prayers for my mom tonight. Not doing great," Bernsen, who now stars on USA's Psych, wrote April 12. "I don't believe it is the end of her journey, but still a very uphill battle."
Cooper has three children, Corbin, Collin, 55, and Caren, 52, with her late ex-husband Harry Bernsen, Jr. While her family celebrates her health update, Bernsen also offered prayers to Boston following the tragic bombings at the marathon on Monday.
"Prayers to those in Boston," he tweeted. "As my mother progresses today, we take a moment to pray for those who need it immediately." He added, "Boston and the death of an 8-year-old boy not the diversion I was hoping for from my mother's struggle. But all is suddenly in perspective."
