Jennifer Aniston‘s first red carpet appearance in months was worth the wait. The Cake actress looked stunning and slim as she walked alongside fiance Justin Theroux at the New York City premiere of his new HBO series The Leftovers on Monday, June 23.

Asked how it felt to have Aniston there to support him, Theroux told Us Weekly, “It feels great!”

Clad in a black blouse left unbuttoned to expose her cleavage, and a black miniskirt that showed off her toned, tanned legs, the 45-year-old Friends alum happily posed for photographs with her husband-to-be, 42. She wore her hair in loose, tousled waves past her shoulders, and kept the accessories to a minimum—just earrings, a gold watch, and her huge diamond engagement ring.

Theroux, meanwhile, cut a dapper figure in a Dior Homme navy wool suit and crisp white shirt. He and his future wife—engaged since 2012—were all smiles on the red carpet, and even wrapped their arms around each other’s waists as they stood side-by-side.

“Jen and Justin were really sweet together,” an onlooker tells Us Weekly. “They were both absolutely beaming. Inside the event, Jen was being really sociable and looked extremely happy. They looked totally in love and seemed very relaxed.”

Aniston has not made an official red carpet appearance in several months. Her last major premiere was the Life of Crime debut at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival in September. Since then, she’s been busy filming the movie Cake, for which she wears minimal makeup and sports a short brunette bob.

The Leftovers, premiering June 29 on HBO, stars the actress’ fiance as the chief of police in a fictional New York suburb following a global “Rapture” of sorts. The show is based on Tom Perrotta’s novel of the same name, and costars Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, and Chris Zylka.
