Because baby says so! Jennifer Grey pulled off one of the most famous scenes in movie history when she rocked a pink dress and performed for guests at the Catskill Mountains resort. But throwing back to the summer of 1963 now is out of the question. In a recent interview, the actress said that she will never do her classic Dirty Dancing lift again in this lifetime.

“God, no! I only did it on the day I shot it. Never rehearsed it, never done it since,” Grey, 55, told The Guardian. “I don’t know how all these people who re-enact it have the guts to throw themselves into the arms of anyone other than Patrick Swayze. It’s insane!”

Grey and the late Swayze played Frances “Baby” Houseman and Johnny Castle, respectively, in the 1987 classic. In the romantic comedy’s final epic scene, the couple showcase their forbidden love by kicking up their heels to Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes’ “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.”

The scene has been recreated by countless movie and TV couples, including Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in Crazy, Stupid, Love. Other stars who’ve given the move a try include Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo, and exes Taylor Swift and Harry Styles.

The Red Oaks actress is proud of the role, but opted out of recreating the scene during her Season 11 stint on Dancing With the Stars — even though she was asked to do it just “about every day.”

“It’s a non-starter. It happened, enjoy it, watch it over and over again but never ask me to do it again because I’m too f—king old,” Grey told The Guardian, laughing: “I have a family and I want to live longer.”

Grey did, however, break down in tears when she looked back at her time with Swayze, who passed away at age 57 in 2009 from pancreatic cancer. (It’s been rumored for years that the former costars didn’t like each other while filming Dirty Dancing.)

“It took me back in a time capsule, and I was with Patrick. I just missed him,” she said on DWTS. “He was, like, young and gorgeous.”
