Rest in peace. Jim Carrey’s late girlfriend, Cathriona White, will be laid to rest in a funeral service in her hometown of Cappawhite in Co Tipperary, Ireland, on Saturday, Oct. 10, various outlets are reporting. A source confirms to Us Weekly that Carrey will be in attendance.
According to a notice posted outside her uncle’s undertaking business, the pretty makeup artist, 30 years old when she died, will be buried next to the body of her father, Pat, at a local cemetery following a wake on Friday evening.
As Us Weekly previously confirmed, White was married to a man named Mark Burton at the time of her death — making him the legal next of kin.
The pair wed in a Las Vegas wedding in January 2013, but were separated and had plans to divorce.
“As far as Jim was concerned, Cathriona was separated,” a source told Us. “She was going to start divorce proceedings in December. There is no way that Jim Carrey would have taken her out to public places if he thought she was married.”
White and the comedian, 53, dated on-and-off after first stepping out together in 2012, but seemed to have rekindled their romance in May after they were spotted holding hands in New York City.
White’s body was found in her Sherman Oaks, Calif., home on Sept. 28 in what is believed to be a suicide. (The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office told Us that several prescription bottles and a note addressed to Carrey were discovered next to White’s body.)
“There were four bottles found, three of them with a name on it and they weren’t hers,” the coroner’s office explained to Us. “We confirmed with the pharmacy it was an alias [for Carrey]… The prescriptions found were Ambien, Percocet, Propranolol and Zofran. [They were all in the name of Carrey’s alias] except for the Zofran, there was no name on the [Zofran] bottle.”
A toxicology test has yet to be released.
