Joe Simpson acknowledged his battle with prostate cancer in an Instagram post on Thursday, November 17.
The father of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson posted a bright red image featuring the following message: “Cancer … The dream killer.”
Not long after he posted, several of Joe’s followers reached out to the 58-year-old talent manager and fashion photographer to share words of support and encouragement.
“Praying for you Joe ❤️️,” one fan wrote, while another commented, “You got this! 💪🏼❤️🙏🏼.”
As Us Weekly previously reported on Monday, November 14, Joe was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year. He underwent surgery for the disease two months ago and is on the mend.
“The surgery went well,” one insider told Us, adding that his famous daughters have been “super supportive.”

Despite his health setback, Joe has kept himself busy focusing on his career. The Texas native — who divorced Jessica and Ashlee’s mom, Tina Simpson, after 34 years of marriage in 2013 — opened Dreams Work, his first photography exhibit, at the Bruce Lurie Gallery in L.A. this past May. The “dadager” turned photog also shot WTFHYD’s latest ad campaign featuring Ava Sambora.
In an October 2015 interview with Us, Joe opened up about his newfound passion. “With my camera, it’s just me and my art. So it’s been, like, life-changing,” he explained to Us. “And then, at 40, I became Jessica Simpson’s father, and Ashlee Simpson’s father. … And photography for me allows me to be just Joe Simpson again. I’m not riding the shirttails of my children; I’m not making money off my children. It’s just me, doing my art.”
