…some birthdays are more than just birthdays. They’re dreams coming true and prayers being answered.

Treasured moment. Country singer Joey Feek, who has terminal cancer, prayed that she would live long enough to see her daughter, Indiana, celebrate her second birthday. And on Wednesday, February 17, her wish came true.

“Some birthdays are more than just birthdays,” says the caption on a sweet Instagram pic of Feek, 40, smiling as her little girl holds her hands. “They’re dreams coming true and prayers being answered.”

It’s been a big week for Feek and her husband, Rory Feek, who celebrated Valentine’s Day on Sunday and watched the Grammy Awards together the following day. The pair were nominated for their song “If I Needed You,” but Rory, 49, chose to stay home in Alexandria, Indiana, with his wife rather than attend the show in L.A.

And although Joey + Rory didn’t win the award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, the pair said in an Instagram post that being nominated was “more than enough.”

As Us Weekly previously reported, Joey, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2014, opted to enter hospice care after the cancer returned and she stopped chemotherapy treatments in October.

On Wednesday, Rory posted a sweet video on Instagram of Indiana smiling as he wished her a happy birthday. The doting dad wrote a blog post last week about their plans to celebrate Indiana’s big day.

…barely awake and already signing and celebrating her big day.

“We will do our best to make it the very special day that it is,” he wrote on his blog, This Life I Live. “Our plan is to put streamers up around Joey’s bed and move Indiana’s high-chair in beside her, so Joey can be part of it. So she can watch our little one eat her cupcake and rip the wrapping paper off her gifts. But Joey is very fragile right now, and so with all of these plans we have, we will need to adjust for what my wife needs.”
