Johnny Depp isn’t afraid to wear women’s jewelry. The typically private actor rocked fiancee Amber Heard’s diamond ring during a press conference for his film Transcendence in Beijing on Monday, March 31.
Depp, 50, wore the gorgeous sparkler on his left wedding ring finger for the special event, often holding his hands up to his face for the audience to get a better look. He also donned his usual t-shirt and vest, and a light brown hat.
As previously reported, Depp confirmed his engagement to the 27-year-old actress during the conference. “The fact that I’m wearing a chick’s ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway,” he said at the time. “Not very subtle.”
Although Depp did once present Heard with the ring, it isn’t the same one she’s been wearing recently. An insider reveals to Us that Depp’s new rock was “too big for her, so he started wearing it.” Heard, instead, has been sporting a much larger brilliant cut diamond with a silver band. (The two stepped out in NYC on March 22 wearing both their rings.)
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor and Heard got engaged mid-January and celebrated an intimate engagement party with famous friends like Steven Tyler, Mandy Moore, and Marilyn Manson at The Carondelet House in L.A. on March 14. Depp split with his longtime love Vanessa Paradis back in June 2012 after 14 years together; they share daughter Rose, 14, and son Jack, 11.
