Is another Duggar headed to the altar?! Joy-Anna Duggar, 19, announced she’s entered a courtship with longtime friend Austin. The teenager revealed the exciting news during TLC’s special Counting On: Jinger’s Wedding on Tuesday, November 15.
“Hey, y’all! I’m Joy Duggar and this is Austin,” Joy-Anna says in a video posted by TLC on the Duggar family website. Austin informs viewers, “I just asked her to enter a courtship with me.”
“And I said yes!” Joy-Anna excitedly shares. “We’ve known each other for a long time.” Austin then tells the camera that they’ve been friends for almost 15 years and that he chose the spot to ask Joy-Anna because it has special meaning for them.
“There was a whole group of us that came up,” Joy-Anna explains in the sweet clip. “And we were just hanging out and it was really late at night, stars were just gorgeous. For me that’s really special, but then just being with him. And then now it’s even more special because it’s where we start our courtship.”
Like Joy-Anna, Austin is also deeply religious. “It’s a place that I’ve come many times to just get away and spend time with the Lord,” he said of the special location. “I just knew that this was the place that I wanted to ask her.”
Joy-Anna’s announcement comes after her older sister Jinger Duggar recently tied the knot with fiancé Jeremy Vuolo. The 22-year-old said “I do” to the soccer player in front of 1,000 family and friends on Saturday, November 5, in Arkansas. The pair got engaged in July, just one month after announcing their courtship.
