British actor Jude Law is currently waging war against two prominent former editors of the now-defunct tab News of the World, but not without revisiting past wounds — particularly those pertaining to matters of the heart.
The 41-year-old actor was asked some deeply personal questions about his former fiancee Sienna Miller and her alleged affair with actor Daniel Craig while on the witness stand for the News of the World phone hacking trial Monday, Jan. 27 at the Old Bailey in London.
During the proceedings, the Holiday heartthrob revealed he had gotten into a yelling-match over the phone back in 2005 with the James Bond stud upon discovery that his then-fiancee had cheated on him with none other than close pal Craig.
The news of the affair between Miller and Craig, both of whom starred together in the 2004 movie Layer Cake, was initially blasted out by a 2005 News of the World article headlined "Sienna Cheats on Jude."
Following up on the story with its own sources, the Daily Mail wrote that the Factory Girl star had given Law "a taste of his own medicine" by having an affair after the actor had cheated on her with nanny Daisy Wright.
"No doubt you expressed your views?" defense attorney Timothy Langdale asked the actor Monday as reported by the London Evening Standard. "I did, yes," he responded, regarding his call with Craig.
"We had known each other many, many years," Law recalled. "So the conversation took on all sorts of turns."
It was also revealed that during the phone call, Law told Craig to fess up about the affair to then-girlfriend, producer Satsuki Mitchell, whom Craig later got engaged to in 2007. When his relationship with Mitchell ended, Craig quickly moved on and married his Dream House costar Rachel Weisz in 2011.
Miller, meanwhile, married actor Tom Sturridge in 2011 and welcomed their daughter in July 2012.
