Jules Wainstein: ‘It Was So Difficult to Watch the Beginning of the End’ of My Marriage on ‘RHONY’

Jules Wainstein had to relive the harsh reality of her marriage’s disintegration while watching this week’s episode of the Real Housewives of New York City — and it wasn’t easy.

“It was so difficult to watch the beginning of the end unfold in this week’s episode, but I’ve come a long way since my life began to unravel this past winter, and my kids and I will be just fine — better than fine,” she wrote in a blog post to Bravo’s site on Thursday, June 16. Her post marked her first public comment since news broke of her impending divorce from husband of eight years, Michael.

“Truth is that it’s too easy to get caught up in your own reality, especially when you are blindsided and betrayed by someone who is supposed to be a partner and friend,” she continued. “I’m trusting and open, but I’m also strong and practical. This isn’t the end of the world, it’s just a big bump in the road, but I’ll get over it and I’ll be stronger for it.”

Jules’ rep confirmed to Us Weekly that the reality star and Michael are seeking to end their marriage after the season 8 star learned her husband was allegedly having an affair.

“It has nothing to do with the show,” her rep told Us. “They had issues for awhile but Jules was blindsided by this.” (Michael’s attorney, Mark Jay Heller, has denied the allegations of infidelity, telling Us that Jules’ “drama queen” behavior is what led to the divorce.)

On the Wednesday, June 15, episode of RHONY, Jules alluded to the strains in the pair’s marriage, telling costars and friends Dorinda Medley and her boyfriend, John, that Michael made them late for the dinner double date.

“You know … he came home at 7:17? … At 6:00, he’s like, ‘I’ll be home in three minutes.’ He came home at 7:17,” Jules told Dorinda. “Dinner is at 7:00, and you’re rolling in at 7:15 at home. We’re supposed to be there 15 minutes ago. He was like, ‘Oh, so, whatever.’ And then he goes and takes a shower.”

The reality star put her marital troubles into perspective in her blog post Thursday, however, noting that “there are bigger issues in the world that need tackling, and there are bigger realities that need to be addressed.”

“My reality is that my kids and I are healthy and happy,” she concluded. “We’re lucky and blessed. My thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by the tragedies in Orlando and the rest of the country and world.”

The estranged couple are parents to Jagger, 5, and Rio, 3.
