Still his heartbreaker? Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been broken up (more or less) for two years now, but it looks like the spark between them hasn't yet burned out — on Bieber's side, at least.
After attending the 2015 Met Gala on Monday, May 4, and seeing his ex among the guests, the "Confident” singer, 21, couldn't resist giving her a little unprompted shout-out. Video posted by TMZ on Tuesday morning shows him getting into a car and driving away from a horde of fans — but not before yelling out the window, "Hey, Selena looked gorgeous at the Met Ball!"
Indeed, Gomez, 22, turned heads at the annual fashion bash in a custom ivory silk crepe Vera Wang Collection gown with a plunging back and black tassel detailing. Bieber, meanwhile, sported a Balmain velvet blazer with golden dragon embroidery, which he teamed with black pants, a black shirt, and a black cummerbund.
After the red-carpet event, both stars hit up afterparties in the city. Gomez's first stop was The Standard Hotel — the site of Solange and Jay Z's infamous elevator fight after last year's Met Gala. There, the "Come & Get It" songstress mingled with pals including Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington, Jessica Alba, and her Spring Breakers costar Vanessa Hudgens.
"Selena looked really happy," an onlooker tells Us Weekly of the star, who changed into a little black dress for the party. "She seemed to know everyone there and talked to several other celebs."
After leaving The Standard, Gomez headed to Rihanna's afterparty at Up & Down, where Bieber was already hanging out with Tyga. A source says the "Baby" crooner "tried very hard" to speak with his ex at the party, but that their encounter was pretty short.
