The couple who tweet together stay together. After Bette Midler and Chloë Grace Moretz bashed Kim Kardashian’s nude selfie March 7, Kanye West stepped in. A source reveals exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly that 38-year-old West, who is no stranger to Twitter beefs, was the man behind Kardashian’s hater-bashing Twitter tirade.
“Kim and Kanye are always collaborating on their tweets,” says the insider of the married couple, adding that the notoriously outspoken rapper “told her not to take s‑‑t from anyone. He said she’s a queen and should fight back like he always does.”
After Kardashian, 35, posted a censored bathroom snap, Midler, 70, shared her commentary on Twitter. “If Kim wants us to see a part of her we’ve never seen, she’s gonna have to swallow the camera,” she tweeted.
Within hours, the E! star responded to Midler, “Hey @BetteMidler I really didn’t want to bring up how you sent me a gift awhile back trying to be a fake friend then come at me #dejavu.” She also addressed Moretz, 19, pointing out that “no one knows” who the actress is.
Adds the source, “Kim used to play things so smooth. But Kanye’s rubbing off on her big time.”
The mom to North, 2, and Saint, 3 months, received kudos from some of her nearly 42 million Twitter followers — plus Demi Lovato, Sharon Osbourne, Bella Thorne and Emily Ratajkowski, who posted an Instagram photo March 14 of the flowers the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star had sent her as a thank you for defending her.
“Kim was pleased by the response to her tweets and the support of young female celebrities,” shares a family insider. “She is consistently confused about why other women won’t let her be an entrepreneur, mother and sexual person.”
