Contrary to reports, the LAPD is still determining whether Kanye West will be charged with a crime in connection with his July 19 fight with a photographer

Contrary to reports, Kanye West is not yet off the hook for the scuffle he was involved in with a photographer last week. On Thursday, July 25, TMZ reported that the rapper would not be charged with any crime in connection with the July 19 incident; however, the LAPD tells Us Weekly that no decisions have been made on that front.

"The investigation is still ongoing and no determination has been made as to whether charges will be filed or not," the LAPD Robbery and Homicide division tells Us in a statement.

Per an earlier report by TMZ, West was involved in an altercation with a photographer at LAX on Friday, July 19. At the time, law enforcement sources told the site that the "Black Skinheads" rapper, 36, committed an attempted robbery when he tried to steal the victim's camera. Officials confirmed to Us Weekly that an incident had taken place but noted that the investigation was in progress.

"Today [July 19] at approximately 2:00 p.m., at the Tom Bradley International Terminal (on the arrival level curbside), Los Angeles Airport Police officers were flagged down by a citizen (photographer) who alleged that he was taking pictures of an individual when he was battered by the subject," airport police said in a statement. "The alleged subject was not at the location nor was he observed by officers at the scene. LAFD was notified, responded to the location, and transported the victim to a local hospital for medical attention. A police report was taken by the Los Angeles Police Department and the investigation is ongoing."

One source close to the new dad told Us that the altercation had been blown out of proportion. "Kanye is fine," the source said. "He didn't hurt the pap. They were just heckling him as usual. Kanye went to grab the camera and the guy fell being so dramatic."
