Preach, Yeezus! Kanye West opened up about his potential run for the presidency in a new interview and said that while he isn’t politically inclined, he would take a humanitarian approach to leading the United States if he were to become POTUS one day.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac on Monday, August 1, the “Famous” rapper, 39, recalled the time in September 2015 when he stated at the MTV Video Music Awards that he would be running for president in 2020.

Explaining that he doesn’t have strong feelings about politics, the hip-hop star insisted that he has "a view on humanity, on people, on the truth."

"If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I'm alive,” West told Mac, “I'm going to try to do it."

The Grammy winner also touched on the recent police shootings of black people in America, such as Baton Rouge, Louisiana’s Alton Sterling and Falcon Heights, Minnesota’s Philando Castile, among many others.

"We are numb, we're numb to 500 kids getting killed in Chicago a year," the dad of North, 3, and Saint, 7 months, said. “We're numb to the fact that it was seven police shootings in the beginning of July."

Back in October 2015, President Barack Obama playfully acknowledged West’s plan to take over the Oval Office during a Democratic fundraiser in San Francisco.

“Kanye is thinking about running… for Speaker of the House!" Obama, 54, joked. "It couldn’t get any stranger. But in case Kanye is serious about this whole POTUS thing –- or as he calls it, 'peezy' –- I do have some advice for him."

"First of all, you have to spend some time dealing with some strange characters who act like they're on a reality TV show. You gotta be cool with that," he added. "Second important tip: Saying you have a beautiful dark twisted fantasy — that's what's known as off-message in politics. People have lost congressional seats that way.”

Finally, POTUS made a hilarious reference to their shared Windy City roots: "And number three: Do you really think this country's going to elect a black guy from the South Side of Chicago with a funny name to be president of the U.S.? That’s crazy. Cray."
