While Khloe Kardashian remains by her estranged husband Lamar Odom's bedside as he fights for his life in a Las Vegas hospital, the family released a statement on Thursday, Oct. 15.
In a message posted to Khloe, Kim Kardashian, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner's websites, the siblings wrote, "As a family, we've decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar. Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time." Eldest sister Kourtney Kardashian doesn't have an app.
The two-time NBA champion, who split from Khloe in December 2013, was found unconscious on Tuesday, Oct. 13, after a weekend of heavy partying at a legal Nevada brothel. In now-released 911 calls, employees at the brothel told operators the athlete had "blood coming from his nose and mouth along with a white substance."
Since his transfer to a Las Vegas hospital that night, Odom, 35, who has struggled with substance abuse, suffered a series of strokes after taking what an insider told Us was "a significant amount of cocaine" along with herbal Viagra, and was placed on life support.
A source told Us Weekly earlier on Thursday that the former Los Angeles Laker needs a machine to breathe, and doctors "still can't tell what kind of brain damage he has." The Olympian's brain is swollen and he's on dialysis because his kidneys also shut down. "Things are not looking good," another source added, saying that Khloe, 31, who married Odom in 2009 after just one month of dating, "is the one making all the decisions for him."
