"Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now," the rep told Us on Tuesday, Dec. 9. "Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."
The actress, 35, and Bellamy, 36, started dating in 2010, and got engaged in April 2011. They welcomed their son Bingham "Bing" Hawn Bellamy in July 2011. (Hudson is also mom to 10-year-old son Ryder with her ex-husband Chris Robinson.)
As previously reported by Us this past February, the two were rethinking their three-year engagement while dealing with issues in their long-distance relationship. After spending some time apart, the two reunited in March with the intention of staying together for Bing.
In January, the Bride Wars star expressed how she wasn't bothered by her prolonged engagement to the rocker, citing their busy schedules as one reason why wedding planning hadn't happened yet. "There's a part of me that goes, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right," Hudson told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan. "And I'm going to take the time to really plan it right… And it's a lot. Planning a wedding is a lot! I mean, I did a movie about planning a wedding and that was a lot, let alone actually planning a wedding! So, no. Not anytime soon, no."
In an interesting twist to this story, Us reported Monday that Hudson has moved on with DWTS fan favorite Hough. Multiple sources told Us that the two were together this past weekend at the Nice Guy Restaurant in L.A., where they enjoyed dinner, drank, and stayed at the spot past closing.
An insider tells Us that despite Hudson rebounding with Hough, the actress and her former rocker beau are amicable after the split. "It was coming apart for some time," the source says.
