Get it together! Duchess Kate breaks into a smile while trying to pose for a “serious” photo alongside Prince William and Prince Harry in a video for the Heads Together mental-health campaign.
The two-minute clip shows Middleton, 34, William, 33, and Harry, 31, joining runners and supporters at the end of a run in support of the campaign, which brings together numerous charities to help tackle stigmas associated with mental illness.
“Mental health is just as important as physical health,” the duchess says to the camera.
“We all play our part by talking and listening to each other and helping each other find support,” Harry adds.
“Let’s get our heads together and change the conversation on mental health,” William says, capping off the royals’ cameos.
Heads Together will work with charity partners including Best Beginnings, CALM (The Campaign Against Living Miserably), Contact (a military mental-health coalition), Mind, Place2Be, The Mix and YoungMinds to raise awareness of mental illnesses and the resources out there for individuals to get help.
Additionally, the campaign was recently announced as the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon Charity of the Year, which means an even greater platform upon which the charities can build support.
“Through their work with young people, emergency response, homeless charities and with veterans, Their Royal Highnesses have seen time and time again that unresolved mental health problems lie at the heart of some of our greatest social challenges,” a spokesperson for the three royals tells Us in a statement.
“They are passionate about tackling the stigma surrounding the issue. Too often, they have seen that people feel afraid to admit that they are struggling with their mental health,” the statement continues. “This fear of prejudice and judgment stops people from getting help and can destroy families and end lives. They want to help change the national conversation.”
