Congratulations are in order yet again for Kate Upton and her fiancé, Justin Verlander. The couple have certainly had an exciting year, getting engaged and recently purchasing a home together in Beverly Hills. The model debuted her new engagement ring on the red carpet of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in NYC this past May.
“It’s a lot of fun. I mean, in a lot of ways it [engaged life] is the same, but now we’re planning our life together,” the Sports Illustrated model, 23, told Us Weekly exclusively at the Vince Camuto Holiday Dance Party at the A List in Beverly Hills.
The once off-again and on-again couple have been inseparable since they reunited in January 2014 in the Bahamas when Us Weekly was the first to confirm that the two were back together. The future spouses first met while shooting a commercial for video game MLB 2K12 in 2012.
When it comes to planning their wedding and decorating their new abode, Upton says, “I don’t think we’ll start thinking about it until after the holidays.”
For Christmas, the Other Woman actress and the Detroit Tigers pitcher, 33, are looking forward to relaxing and “spending some time with our families,” she said.
As for holiday traditions, Upton says, “well, I guess now we’re kind of making our own family traditions, but for my family, we always have a really special morning Christmas Day. We wake up and all open stockings and then all make breakfast together.”
