Katie Holmes Says Dawson’s Creek Cast Still Keeps in Touch: “I Love Them Dearly”

Katie Holmes: I Still Keep in Touch With My Dawson's Creek Costars
Katie Holmes said she still keeps in touch with her Dawson's Creek costars Michelle Williams, Joshua Jackson, and James Van Der Beek, affectionately revealing: "I love them dearly."

After all these years! Katie Holmes appeared at the Apple Store in Soho, NYC, this week, where she participated in a Q&A and amiably fielded questions about whether she keeps in touch with her Dawson’s Creek castmates Michelle Williams, Joshua Jackson, and James Van Der Beek — 11 years after the teen soap ended.

“You know, we all still keep in touch and support each other,” the Miss Meadows star, 35, revealed. “And luckily, we all have been able to stay busy. We had a really wonderful time. It was six years of our lives, and we were all really passionate about making it the best it could be. We really believed in ourselves.”

An emotional Holmes added of her former costars: “I love them all so dearly. I’m so excited for everyone and proud. I can’t believe… it seems like yesterday, and then it seems like a hundred years ago when we made it. We really did have a good time.” The show aired for six seasons on The WB from 1998 to 2003.

Holmes, who launched her career on Dawson’s Creek, learned several invaluable lessons while working on the teen drama. “It really taught me discipline,” she said. “We worked long hours every day. We learned about telling a story in seven days, and keeping energy up while in character. So it was a really good foundation for being in this business and putting the work in.”

She added that she will sometimes catch a rerun and reminisce about filming in North Carolina. “If something comes out, I’ll watch a little bit [but] usually it’s like looking at old pictures,” she said. “Like, ‘Oh, I remember that scene!’ Whether it was really cold out or whether the light was running out or whether I was so stressed about this or ‘that was really fun.'” Added the star: “It’s full of memories so I’ll watch a little bit of it. I don’t watch the whole thing, but I’ve had a great time in my career so I have a nice time looking back.”

As for whether there will be an actual reunion? For now, the show’s creator Kevin Williamson, along with producers are expected to reunite in June 2015 at the ATX Television Festival in Austin. The stars, however, have yet to confirm.
