Katy Perry performed at the Super Bowl and got a tattoo in honor of it.

That's how she does! After stealing the show at Glendale, Ariz.'s University of Phoenix Stadium, Katy Perry topped off her exciting Super Bowl day with some fresh new ink.

The "Roar" singer, 30, shared photos via Instagram on Sunday, Feb. 1, of the surprising way that she spent the hours after the New England Patriots narrowly defeated the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX.

After performing a talked-about medley of hits including "Teenage Dream," "Firework," and "I Kissed a Girl" and featuring killer cameos by Missy Elliot and Lenny Kravitz, not to mention shark and happy-ball dancers, Perry enlisted the help of a tattoo artist while still in her flashy hair and makeup from her halftime show.

I thought it would be appropriate to draw blood tonight… XLIX ????

"I thought it would be appropriate to draw blood tonight… XLIX," the Grammy-nominated performer captioned the first shot she posted. In the image, with her slicked-back high ponytail and winged glittery eyeliner still intact and in a luxe ASOS faux fur coat, Perry sits with her finger in the hands of a hard-at-work tattoo artist.

Soon after, the pop star showed off her new ink. Captioning the second photo simply, "XLIX," Perry displayed the roman numerals that are now in black ink on the inside of her ring finger.

The Super Bowl homage now resides adjacent to an earlier finger tattoo that Perry opted for. This past fall, the "Dark Horse" performer got a tiny drawing of Hello Kitty, complete with whiskers and red bow, on her middle finger.

Perry's other tattoos include a script reading "Jesus" on her wrist (a nod to her fundamentalist Christian upbringing), a phrase in Sanskrit on the inside of her arm, and a small cartoon peppermint candy on her ankle.

Following in the footsteps of Bruno Mars, Madonna, and Beyonce, Perry had been hyping the gig for months, and voicing just how excited she was for the opportunity.

Perry tweeted her gratitude ahead of the game on Sunday, writing, "Today is the day that the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it!" She went on to share a photo of herself as a little girl and tweeted, "Today is for this girl. She had the dream, always believed in herself & her worth. Today she is the one smiling."
