Girls’ night! Newly single Katy Perry had a fun night out on Saturday, March 23 by hanging out with Kristen Stewart and Selena Gomez at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards after splitting from John Mayer.
Perry stunned on the carpet in a printed, cut-out ensemble from Herve Leger by Max Azria. The 28-year-old pop singer beat Taylor Swift, Pink and Adele for the Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Female Singer during the show.
The boys of Big Time Rush gave Perry big hugs as they presented her with the award. “I love the kids!” she screamed on stage at the USC Galen Center in L.A. “Stay safe and stay in school. Have a good time, stay in school!”
On March 19, multiple sources confirmed to Us Weekly that Perry and Mayer, 35, have called it quits for a second time. But the “Wide Awake” singer Perry didn’t show any sign of heartbreak during the show, and was seen laughing and posing for silly pictures with pals Stewart and Gomez on the carpet and backstage.
Perry pulled Stewart, 22, onto her lap while sitting in the audience with Gomez, 20, and the three girls smiled for a funny photo.
Stewart, wearing Osman, and Gomez, styling Oscar de la Renta, were also big winners during the evening. The Twilight actress took home the award for Favorite Movie Actress, while the Wizards of Waverly Place star won Favorite Television Actress.
