Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this. Kelly Clarkson and fiance Brandon Blackstock definitely had the look of love when they posed for their engagement photos recently. The "Catch My Breath" singer shared a snapshot from the shoot via Twitter on Tuesday, Aug. 20 — and it's not hard to see in the picture that they're crazy about each other.
The photo, by Koby and Terilyn Brown of Archetype Studio Inc., shows the 31-year-old American Idol winner in an intimate embrace with her husband-to-be under a brick archway covered in green ivy. Clarkson looks gorgeous in a light-colored, floor-length gown with a beaded neckline, her blonde hair pulled back into an elegant updo.
"Okay…one more from our engagement shoot ha!" she captioned the sweet shot. "TieItUp."
The star — whose fiance is the son of Clarkson's longtime manager, Narvel Blackstock, and the stepson of country legend Reba McEntire — recently opened up to Ryan Seacrest about her upcoming wedding, telling the KIIS FM radio host that she's ready to just be married already.
"It's two months away. It's [at the] end of October. I'm so over it," she shared. "It's so overwhelming. We're just doing a lot: touring and the wedding and the Christmas album, so I'm over the wedding part."
The wife and mother part, on the other hand, is pure bliss. Blackstock has two kids from a previous marriage, and Clarkson couldn't be happier with her new family.
"I have a 12-year-old and a 6-year-old now…after being single for six years!" she told Seacrest. "We all live together and everything…it's so different, but it's perfect. They're awesome and I actually really dig the mom thing…I am quick to go, 'I told you not to touch that!' I am totally my mom. My mom was a hard mom."
