It's been two days since Kim Kardashian stepped out publicly with new beau Kanye West, and the 31-year-old is already being grilled about their relationship.
Appearing on TODAY Friday, the E! reality star sat down with co-host Ann Curry, 55, who asked about their Hunger Games movie date. "The movie was really interesting," Kardashian laughed. "I'm glad Matt [Lauer]'s not doing the interview with the Kanye questions!"
Curry pressed on, reciting lyrics from 34-year-old West's new song, "Theraflu," in which he professes his love for Kardashian.
"I completely respect and understand you have to ask these questions, but I've said it before: Kanye and I have been friends for years," Kardashian smiled. "You never know what the future holds or where my life will take me. I like the song!"
Curry also asked Kardashian about the status of her divorce proceedings with NBA player Kris Humphries, 27.
"I would love [an annulment], but there's certain guidelines on how you can get one, and I'm not sure we fall under that," Kardashian explained. "We are still going through a divorce, so there's not much that I'm allowed to talk about. Out of respect for him, I try to not really talk about stuff involving him . . . I have closed that chapter. I'm just really ready to move on."
Now that Humphries is out of her life, Kardashian is ready to take things to the next level with West. "Kim is ready to give it a try now," a source told Us Weekly Thursday. "They've been friends for years."
