The naked selfie is here to stay! Kim Kardashian won the first ever Break the Internet Award at the annual Webby Awards on Monday, May 16, and promised the world there are many more nude selfies in her future.
The star, who was rewarded for her “bold and creative” ways of using social media, spent the day of the event figuring out what her acceptance speech should be.
Limited to just five words, Kardashian FaceTimed with Ellen DeGeneres to discuss her dilemma, in a segment that will air Tuesday, May 16 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“I’ve been texting all my funny friends like Chrissy Teigen, everyone I think is so funny, asking what my speech should be. Any ideas?” Kardashian, 35, asked comedienne DeGeneres.
“Um … ” the show host pondered, “I thank Ellen Lee DeGeneres?”
Thinking again, the 58-year-old TV star had another suggestion: “You should say, ‘You’re welcome for naked selfies.'”
Turned out Kardashian’s actual speech wasn’t far from that. As she took the stage at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City to accept her award, the reality TV star and mom of two promised fans she still had way more internet love to give.
“Nude selfies until I die,” she said, in five perfect words.
