You don’t say! Kim Kardashian was wearing her very first custom Balmain dress when she and husband Kanye West conceived their daughter, North West, more than four years ago. Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing dropped the TMI revelation himself while taking over the reality star’s app last week.
“[The first dress that I made for her] was a long, electric-blue dress that Kanye requested. And, you know, what is the most amazing thing was about this dress — I don’t know if I can say it, but I’m going to say it. I’m sorry, Kim, I want to say it. It was the night North was conceived,” Rousteing, 31, said in a video.
“I don’t know if I can say — maybe it’s a secret, but I know that Kanye told me,” he added. “So, I just want to share with you guys.”
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 36, wore the head-turning ensemble at the Angel Ball in NYC on October 22, 2012. Two months later, on December 31, Us Weekly confirmed that the couple were expecting.
Kardashian and Rousteing officially met at the Met Gala in 2013. Since then, they’ve collaborated on several more outfits together.
“I saw her and from the first sight I was in love. We started sharing so many things about our background and a lot of fun and we went deeper into conversation, and I knew from that moment that she would become my muse,” he said.
In three words, he described their first exchange as “surprising,” “electric” and “love.”
Back in October, Rousteing called Kardashian “one of the biggest crushes” of his life during an interview with Vogue. “[At the Met Gala] she was really shy, and I was really shy, because the Met Ball is so impressive,” he recalled at the time. “I knew Kanye from Paris, so he introduced us, and I fell in love with her right away. She’s the woman who’s inspired me the most in my life.”
Rousteing’s latest tidbit comes days after West, 39, was released from the hospital due to extreme exhaustion. The pair have stayed low-key, with Kardashian staying off social media since her scary Paris robbery in October.
