Just before news broke that the 39-year-old rapper had been hospitalized on Monday afternoon, Jenner, 61, spoke with reporters at the event, telling Entertainment Tonight that the Selfish author is taking things “one step at a time. It’s a process.” As for why West canceled the remaining dates on his Saint Pablo tour, the momager said, “I think he’s exhausted. Just really tired. It’s a grueling tour.”

Kim was supposed to make her first postrobbery appearance at the black-tie gala with her mom and sisters, but she changed her plans when West was hospitalized.

A source tells Us that Kim is “very worried” about her husband. “She was supposed to be on a lot of the tour dates with him, and because of what happened with the robbery, she wasn’t feeling up for going to all these different tour dates. So [Kanye] hasn’t had his family, his support system, with him,” the insider explained. “The robbery caused so much stress for this family.”

As previously reported, the “Famous” rapper was transported to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Monday after authorities were called to his trainer Harley Pasternak’s L.A. home. West was “acting erratically” and the health scare was described as a “psychiatric emergency” in a 911 call, TMZ reports. The site reports that West did not want to go to the hospital and “was restrained when he was transported.”

A source close to the rapper tells Us, however, that the Yeezy fashion designer has “been suffering from exhaustion and sleep deprivation and went to the hospital today on his own will and under the consultation of his physician.”

The hospitalization comes after some strange behavior from West just days earlier. On Saturday, he went on a long rant about Jay Z, Beyoncé and Hillary Clinton before ending his Sacramento, California, show after just 30 minutes. He also posted more than 90 fashion photos on his Instagram account on Sunday, then announced on Monday that all 21 remaining dates of his tour were canceled.
