Carefree and apathetic? Think again! After years of being in the public eye for Twilight, her romance with Robert Pattinson, her brief fling with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, and her reluctance to smile for photos, Kristen Stewart has seemingly cultivated a “give-no-f–ks” image.

But according to a new interview with Salon, this perceived attitude couldn’t be further from the truth.

“I’m like, actually, no one gives a f—k like me,” Stewart, 24, admitted. “No one gives more of a f—k than me. It’s just ironic to me. I’m always like, really?”

The polarizing actress, who is known for her red carpet pout, has steered clear of blockbusters since the Twilight franchise ended in 2012, opting for roles in indie dramas.

“I have not always been completely comfortable being shoved into the brightest, most blinding spotlight you can imagine,” she told Salon. “People always ask if I chose the projects I’ve chosen because I’m trying to redefine myself or people’s perception of me. Uh, no. In a word, nah.”

She is currently starring in the touching drama Still Alice in which she plays the headstrong daughter of Golden Globe winner Julianne Moore’s titular character, a woman in her 50s suffering from Alzheimer’s disease — a far cry from her days as the love interest of a vampire.

“You can f—k around on a movie set, do this and that, make fun of things. It’s like, this isn’t real, we’re not curing cancer,” she continued. “In this case [with Still Alice], actually, we’re taking one massive step towards helping people overcome something that’s denied.”
