Thoughts and prayers. Kristin Cavallari reacted to her brother Michael's death on Thursday, Dec. 10, after his body was found in Utah, days after he was reported missing.

"My heart is in a million pieces," the Laguna Beach alum, 28, wrote, alongside a throwback photo of herself with her big brother from their childhood. "Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I'm at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP."

Kristin confirmed the family tragedy to Us Weekly on Thursday afternoon in a statement. “We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time," the mom of three told Us. "We have just been informed by the authorities my brother's body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving."

Michael, who was just 30 years old, was last seen the day after Thanksgiving, on Friday, Nov. 27. His abandoned 2014 Honda Civic was found — still running — on a highway in the area. According to the Grand County Sheriff's Department, his body was discovered by search crews in a "steep and very rocky area" in Salt Wash, Utah.

Per the release from authorities, the search team located what was believed to be Michael's body at approximately 10:30 a.m. local time. The body is currently being transported to the medical examiner's office for identification and to determine cause of death.

As previously reported by Us, Michael was arrested on Nov. 23, four days before he vanished, for making criminal threats. After he was reported missing, Cavallari sent a message to her fans on Monday, Dec. 7, thanking them for their support.

"I appreciate all the concern, thoughts, and prayers that have been extended to me and my family," she wrote alongside another throwback photo. "We remain hopeful and I will share any news that we receive. I have such gratitude for all those that have shared their support."
