Lamar Odom was reunited with his kids for Christmas. The former NBA player, who was hospitalized this past October after being found unconscious at a legal brothel in Nevada, spent Christmas with his son, Lamar Odom Jr., and daughter, Destiny, in his hospital room at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai.
“Lamar is doing way better. He was so happy the kids were there with him for Christmas and they were so happy to be with him,” a source tells Us Weekly. “The kids were happy … to bring him gifts, all of his favorite things that they wrapped up. They had so much fun. It was very emotional and very happy.”
Very happy, indeed. Over the New Year’s weekend, Lamar Jr., 13, posted the first picture of his father since the athlete allegedly overdosed. “Christmas with my pops. Here’s to 2016. Blessed,” the teen captioned an Instagram snap of himself with Destiny, 17, and their dad on December 31.
Lamar, 36, who is still legally married to Khloé Kardashian, shares his two kids with ex Liza Morales. The duo were also parents to a son named Jayden, but the child passed away at the age of 6 months in 2006 from sudden infant death syndrome.
The former Lakers star has been making progress since he was first rushed to the hospital following his stay at Love Ranch South. Kardashian, who put a hold on their divorce after his hospitalization, has been calling the shots when it comes to his medical decisions and has also visited the athlete at Cedars countless times.
“He gets better a little bit every day,” another source previously told Us, adding that Lamar is expected to “go to a rehab [facility] any day now.”
