This Gleek has gone pop! Lea Michele makes her debut into mainstream pop music with the official release of her new single “Cannonball,” which dropped on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

The Glee star, 27, tweeted on Tuesday, “Here it is! Check out the cover of my album #LOUDER! Thanks to all of you for tweeting & unlocking it!!” Michele’s “Cannonball” is the first single from her debut solo album Louder, which will drop in 2014. On the cover, the Broadway veteran wears a delicate camisole and leans forward as her brunette locks are strategically blown in front of her face. She gives the camera a pensive stare through her lined eyes.

“Cannonball” is the brainchild of songwriter Sia — a singer also known for her duets with David Guetta in “Titanium” and Flo Rida in “Wild Ones” — and co-writer Benny Blanco. Stargate produced the likely pop hit.

Along with the release of her new single, Michele also shared the entire 11-track list for Louder, which fans can pre-order on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

The Bronx native has been mending following the death of her late boyfriend Cory Monteith, who died at 31 in July from a “mixed drug toxicity” of heroin and alcohol. Michele plays Rachel Berry in the hit Fox series, which is currently in its fifth season. Glee will return with fresh new episodes on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014.
