Lena Dunham Tells Boyfriend Jack Antonoff to Propose After Supreme Court Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage: “Get On It, Yo!”

Lena Dunham tweeted at boyfriend Jack Antonoff that he better propose, just hours after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in the U.S.

Put a ring on it, bro! Lena Dunham has been very vocal about one thing in her love life: She won't get married to boyfriend Jack Antonoff until gay marriage is legalized in the U.S. Welp, the Girls star — and millions more! — finally got her wish on Friday, June 26. And just hours after the Supreme Court decision was made, she basically told her longtime beau that a proposal better be near.

".@jackantonoff Get on it, yo…" Dunham, 29, tweeted. "Woke up to learn that love is free! Thank you to all those who fought so hard to make this historic moment happen," she added. "Weddings are about to get a lot less boring. Let's use this victory as a reminder to keep pushing for equality on every frontier. We have the power!"

The fun. guitarist, 31, also was ecstatic about the historic news. And, oh yes, he favorited Dunham's sly (and not so subtle!) hint. 

"Just woke up to the news! overwhelmed. JUNE 26th remember forever. Gonna tweet something I never thought I would:!!!!!!! USA USA USA USA!!!!!!" he tweeted. "So many amazing people worked tirelessly for decades for this. In awe of them today and always."

Us Weekly broke the news in September 2012 that Dunham and Antonoff were dating. Might we suggest Taylor Swift's 1989 ballad "You Are In Love" (which she wrote for the lovebirds!) to be their first dance as husband and wife?
