Lex McAllister, Former ‘Bachelor’ Contestant, Dead After Apparent Suicide

So very sad. Lex McAllister, who appeared on Jake Pavelka‘s season of The Bachelor in 2010, died on Tuesday, February 16, after a reported overdose, law enforcement sources confirm to Us Weekly.

TMZ reports that police in Columbus, Ohio, received a 911 call on Saturday at about 2 p.m. that McAllister had apparently overdosed on prescription pills.

She was taken to the hospital, and TMZ reports that she was in stable condition but her body subsequently started to shut down. She died on Tuesday morning after life support was withdrawn.

A family member told TMZ that McAllister had struggled with depression and bipolar disorder.

McAllister, who was eliminated in week one on season 14 of ABC’s reality competition, is not the first Bachelor contestant to reportedly take her own life.

Model Gia Allemand, who was a finalist on Pavelka’s season, died at the age of 29 in 2013 after she hanged herself at her New Orleans home.
