He's back on the soul train! Bruno Mars prepared his fans for the upcoming release of his new album, 24K Magic, by releasing a track from it on Thursday, November 3.
The soulful pop star dropped “Versace on the Floor,” and it’s in stark contrast to the upbeat title track he brought out last month.
His new song is sultry and slow, and it has some suggestive lyrics too.
The 31-year-old funkster sings: “So baby let’s just turn down the lights and close the door / Oh, I love that dress, but you won’t need it anymore.”
When he spoke about the track to Rolling Stone he said the tune is “supposed to be a big ballad on the album” and revealed he had to remix it numerous times because it sounded too much like “poolside music.”
He also admitted: "At a certain point I needed to stop telling you we're gonna get down, and just get down."
Mars’ new album is set for release on November 18. His last one, Unorthodox Jukebox, was released four years ago, in December 2012.
“Versace on the Floor” is now available to download and stream.
