All of Hollywood was welcome at Maria Menounos’ house for her Saturday birthday bash — including Mel Gibson!
The scandal-prone actor, 56, was one of the least expected guests to arrive (in an untucked t-shirt, baggy jeans and sandals) at Menounos’ Encinco, Calif. Once there, the Braveheart director made sure to grab the Extra! hostess (turning 34) for a sexy spin on the dance floor as other partygoers looked on. Wearing a yellow bikini top and tiny floral-print shorts (the party had a Hawaiian luau theme) the Dancing with the Star contestant gamely strutted her stuff with Gibson — at one point even wrapping her legs around him for a twirl.
TMZ reports that Gibson crashed the bash with an invited guest who works with Menounos.
Less controversial revelers at the bash included Derek Hough, Donald Trump, Alex Pettyfer, Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Wayne Gretzky, and singer Taylor Dayne — who grabbed the birthday girl to sing along with her to her hit “Tell It To My Heart.”
Despite the presence of Gibson — who’s been in more than one drunken escapade in his time — the star-studded soiree was “a ton of fun and everyone was on their best behavior — seriously!” according to one insider.
By 4:30 a.m., Menounos was headed to sleep. “Time for bed,” she tweeted. “Party was insane! I danced my butt off, sang my butt off. . . It was epic! The dancing didn’t end till 3 a.m.!”
