“He's going to have some cool outfits on, that's for sure. You've got to check him out,” the most decorated Olympian of all time told reporters on Wednesday, August 3. “I've gotten some photos of him — Boomer will be dressed to impress in the stands, that's for sure."

Boomer has already shown off some of his patriotic looks on social media. Phelps’ fiancée, Nicole Johnson, shared a photo of their son in an adorable American flag and Olympic rings onesie after news broke that the 22-time medalist would be the flag bearer for the U.S. during the Opening Ceremonies.

“I told @boomerrphelps that his daddy @m_phelps00's is going to be carrying the #American Flag in opening ceremonies and he thought it was the coolest thing ever!! #proudfamily #rio2016” Johnson posted.

Boomer also showcased his Team USA style at the Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska, last month. The infant “shared” photos of his looks on his Instagram account while watching his dad qualify for his fifth Olympic games.

“Can't believe dad said I couldn't outdo yesterday's outfit!! #watchoutomaha #outfitonsuperfleek @nicole.m.johnson @freshlypicked Thanks @coach_bowman for my awesome shirt!!" one caption read.

Phelps, who retired from swimming in 2012 only to quickly to return to the sport, has said this is his final Olympics, but he gave fans a glimmer of hope that he’s not done yet on Wednesday as he got emotional about sharing this journey with his son.

“To be able to have our firstborn be able to watch, I'll say this just in case of a comeback, my potential last Olympics […], my potential last races of my career is something that you know I look forward to being able to share with him,” Phelps said at a USA Swimming press conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
