So much love to give! Recently divorced Miranda Lambert has a brand-new reason to smile — she's just adopted a new pet kitten, and it's very, very cute!

The 31-year-old country singer shared the photo of her newest family addition on Thursday, Oct. 1 — posing for a gorgeous snap with her new pet, and telling fans the story of how she came to adopt him or her.

"When your friend @harps226 comes to visit and says 'oh by the way I picked up a stray kitten on the highway in Arkansas and it's in the garage,'" Lambert captioned the photo of her holding her new kitty on her shoulder. "And then she smile's this innocent smile. Guess who has a kitten now?" she added.

Lambert, a longtime animal activist, is well known for her big heart when it comes to her furry friends, and raises money for her animal charity, Mutt Nation Foundation, whenever she can. Already the owner of seven rescue dogs, the singer seems delighted to be welcoming a new animal into her menagerie, and will be hoping her actions inspire others to do the same this weekend.

Her Mutt Nation Foundation are hitting Texas' Opry Plaza on Saturday, Oct. 3 to try and find some currently homeless four-legged friends, somewhere to live.
