Sorry, not sorry? Nick Young finally broke his silence on his ex Iggy Azalea’s claims that his infidelity was the reason for their breakup — but the NBA player didn’t exactly apologize.
“If you perfect then be perfect I live in a world where ppl f–k up learn from it and move on …” he wrote on Twitter on Friday, July 1. “That’s life … hate me or love me I’m still going to love life man.”
Young, 31, later posted a video to Instagram of himself singing along to Drake’s “Feel No Way,” which includes the lyrics, “I had to let go of us to show myself what I could do and that just didn’t sit right with you … Now you’re talking down on my name, on purpose.”
The athlete’s comments come amid a series of tweets that Azalea, 26, offered up on Thursday, June 30, to explain why the couple ultimately called off their relationship and their engagement.
“I broke up with Nick because I found out he had brought other women into our home while I was away and caught them on the security footage,” the “Team” singer tweeted to her more than 6 million followers.
“This is just like a second shot to the chest. And I feel like I don’t even know who the hell it is I’ve been loving all this time,” she continued. “People in this world really are f–ked up.”
Earlier in the day, rumors surfaced that Young may have gotten his ex-girlfriend Keonna Green pregnant again. The pair already share a son, 4-year-old Nick Jr.
Azalea and Young’s relationship has been tested with allegations of cheating before. In March, the pair made headlines after footage surfaced of Young allegedly admitting to cheating on Azalea with several women.
“You was 30, she was 19? What about Amber Rose, you ain’t never tried?” his Lakers teammate D’Angelo Russell is heard asking Young. (Russell later revealed that he had taped the conversation.) In response, Young said, “No, she knows my girl.”
The pair stayed together amid the scandal and confirmed that they were still set to be wed. But on Sunday, June 19, Azalea revealed that they were off for good.
“Unfortunately although I love Nick and have tried and tried to rebuild my trust in him — it’s become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to,” Azalea tweeted on June 19. “I genuinely wish Nick the best. It’s never easy to part ways with the person you planned your entire future with, but futures can be rewritten and as of today mine is a blank page.”
