Nicki Minaj had her first major scandal in August 2011 when she unwittingly revealed her left nipple while performing on Good Morning America.
Though she didn't address it at the time, the 29-year-old rapper publicly apologized for the nip slip on ABC's Nightline Monday. "I'm so sorry about that," she told reporter Juju Chang, denying rumors that the wardrobe malfunction was staged for attention. "People are ridiculous if they think that I would use that as a stunt. I would never, ever do something like that on purpose. I swear to God."
That's not the only rumor that bothers the "Starships" chart topper. When asked about the frequent comparisons to Lady Gaga, Minaj said she isn't offended — just annoyed.
"First of all, I'm a rapper. I'm from South Side Jamaica Queens. What are the similarities?"
When Chang, 46, cited their rainbow wigs as one example, Minaj shot back: "Wigs? Every female in this game wears wigs. . . Over-the-top costumes? Ehh! Try again."
Minaj said she's "getting tired" of being pitted against the pop star, 26. "In the beginning I was like, 'OK, it's cool,'" the rapper said. "Gaga's a fantastic artist. She's paved her way. She's opened her own lane, but I feel like I have my own lane, and we never cross — ever!"
