Jealous much? At the Monday, March 28, taping of Dancing With the Stars, Peta Murgatroyd told Us Weekly whether her fiancé, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, is envious of her hot dance partner, Nyle DiMarco.
“Oh god, he hates Nyle!” the pro dancer, 29, joked to Us after the live show.
However, Murgatroyd was quick to clarify that her soon-to-be husband does not dislike the hunky America’s Next Top Model cycle 22 champ at all. The blonde beauty revealed that Chmerkovskiy, 36, actually has nothing but love for DiMarco.
“No, no, Maks adores him. And we all have a lot of fun together,” the New Zealand native explained, noting, “They look so similar it’s kind of funny! They could be brothers!”
In fact, the deaf male model is thankful that he and Murgatroyd’s main man bear a striking resemblance.
“It’s definitely been nice,” DiMarco told Us. “I appreciate it a lot because Maks has the same build as me, the same height, so I get a good perspective from him from a person who’s got the same features as I do.”
As is par for the course, the sizzling salsas and sambas of Dancing With the Stars require DiMarco, 26, and Chmerkovskiy’s lady love to get up close and personal week after week. Still, Murgatroyd insists to Us, “[Maksim] just thinks [Nyle’s] doing such an incredible job.”
As Us Weekly previously reported, Murgatroyd and DWTS alum Chmerkovskiy first dated for 10 months in 2012 and 2013. They reignited their romance last year. In October 2015, they attended the JDRF Promise Ball Gala, where they posed for a sweet selfie on the red carpet.
The pair announced their engagement on December 5, when the Ukrainian-born ballroom champ posted an Instagram that showed him proposing to his future wife. “She said ‘yes,’” he captioned the pic.
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
