A performance fit for a king! On Wednesday, July 22, Prince George turned 2 years old, and Kensington Palace decided to honor the royal tot with a musical tribute.
“Thank you to the Grenadier Guards for playing ‘Happy Birthday’ at today’s Guard Change! #HappyBirthdayPrinceGeorge,” the Kensington Palace official Twitter handle captioned a video of the band playing “Happy Birthday.”
The Grenadier Guards are a regular staple at the daily Changing of the Guard ceremony, a public event that takes place outside of the palace.

Sadly Prince George wasn’t in attendance, but he does have plans for a family party at Anmer Hall tonight.
Ahead of the milestone birthday, Kensington Palace tweeted out a never-before-seen shot of a grinning Prince George from the Mario Testino photo shoot taken for Princess Charlotte’s christening.
“Look who’s turning two tomorrow! #HappyBirthdayPrinceGeorge,” the handle captioned the adorable pic of the third in line to the throne in his father, Prince William’s, arms.
