Leaving on a jet plane! Prince Harry dropped off his girlfriend, Meghan Markle, at the airport after her weeklong visit to London.
The British royal, 32, personally escorted his ladylove to London’s Heathrow Airport on Sunday, December 18. He was surrounded by five security officers, and the Suits actress, 35, was walked to her gate by an airline staffer. Markle was bundled up for her flight in a long black coat, gray sweater, ripped jeans, white sneakers and a black beanie.
Hours later, she was spotted arriving in Toronto, where she films her USA drama Suits, and stopped to check her cellphone before heading home.
The airport send-off topped off a fun week of activities for the couple, who were finally photographed together for the first time after several months of quietly dating. Paparazzi snapped pics of the pair heading to the Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End, where they saw The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time on December 14. The lovebirds also headed to Pines and Needles shop in Battersea Park to purchase a Christmas tree. They picked out a modest 6-foot Nordmann fir and elected to take it back to his Nottingham Cottage home at Kensington Palace themselves instead of having it delivered.
Markle’s trip across the pond to the U.K. was one of several meet-ups recently for the long-distance couple. Earlier this month, Harry flew to Toronto after his two-week tour of the Caribbean and stayed at the actress’ home for a few days.
Next on the agenda, the couple will spend Christmas apart before reuniting for a low-key, romantic vacation after the holidays. Harry will spend Christmas at Queen Elizabeth’s country estate, Sandringham, for the royal family’s annual get-together, but it’s unlikely he will be able to celebrate with Markle until he pops the question. Royal tradition strictly states that only married couples can attend, meaning bringing along boyfriends or girlfriends is off-limits.
