Gang’s all here! Princess Charlotte made her first public appearance with the rest of the royal family on Saturday, June 11, as part of Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday celebration, joining older brother Prince George and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The 13-month-old tot looked adorable in a pale pink dress with a matching bow pinning back her hair as the whole family — including Prince Harry, Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, the Duke of York and his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie — greeted the gathered crowds from the Buckingham Palace balcony.
The queen, happily waving to the crowd, dressed in a bright lime green coat by Stewart Parvin and matching hat with a pink flower by Rachel Trevor Morgan, was with her husband, Prince Phillip, who was giving a small wave as well.
Duchess Kate, 34, looked elegant in a long white coat by Alexander McQueen and a matching hat by Philip Treacy as she brushed down 2-year-old Prince George’s hair and toted Princess Charlotte. (She topped off her outfit with Balenciaga earrings.)
In an adorable photo posted to the Kensington Palace Instagram account, the duke and duchess take in the Royal Air Force’s special flypast.
Earlier in the day, the royal family made their way through central London in several horse-drawn carriages as part of the Trooping the Colour parade.
Thousands of people lined the Mall to watch the colorful spectacle, which included military bands and others wearing traditional bearskin hats.
This year, the Colour of 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards are being trooped.
The Trooping the Colour ceremony is a tradition that dates back to the 18th century, and Queen Elizabeth II has taken part in it every year of her reign. Until the 1980s, she rode in on horseback.
