On to the next one! The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Apollo Nida is engaged from prison, two sources confirm to Us Weekly.
According to one insider, the woman — who has yet to be identified — “does appear on the show later in the season at one of the cast events.”
TMZ reports that Nida, 37, and his ladylove began dating two years ago, before he began his eight-year prison sentence for fraud in September 2014. This means that Nida and his fiancée started seeing each other before the fitness enthusiast’s ex-wife, Phaedra Parks, filed for divorce in 2015 after nearly five years of marriage.
The Secrets of the Southern Belle author, 43, confirmed during an appearance on TMZ’s Raq Rants that she and Nida recently finalized their divorce.
According to the site, the couple, who got engaged “a couple months ago,” have shot scenes for season 9 of RHOA. (Nida’s voice will reportedly be heard on phone calls.)
Though TMZ reports that the mystery woman and Parks — with whom Nida shares sons Ayden, 6, and Dylan, 3 — did not film any scenes together, the Bravolebrity’s reaction to Nida’s new relationship was captured on camera.
On the Sunday, November 6, episode of RHOA, Parks opened up to costar and BFF Porsha Williams about her decision to call it quits with Nida and his resistance to sign divorce documents.
“I filed for divorce last year, and it has been a long, drawn-out process because Apollo has not wanted to get the divorce,” the attorney and businesswoman said on the hit reality show. “I’m waiting for word on my divorce being final. I’m just hoping that we can get this resolved.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which premiered its ninth season last week, airs on Bravo Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.
